i have heard that you can place an egg in a small wire pyramid and leave it - unrefrigerated for up to 2 weeks and it will not go bad also , those trays that melt frozen food super fast (sold in infomercials then stores in the early 90's) are supposed to have hundreds of tiny pyramid shapes...

As long as the rods dont explode they will not cause any damage execp some earth boring deep enough to extract water. Something here does not fit with laws of physics.
