Paranormalis is going to get a complete revamp for 2010.

I acquired a vBulletin 4 Publishing Suite licence, which contains Blogs, Articles, Cross content search functions, friendly URLs, and by the way, one of the best actual Forum engine available.

I want to point out that a vBulletin 4 forum still feels like an actual vBulletin forum. vB4 contains a lot of new features, including a new template system, which will require me to to rebuild the site's style from scratch. That is why I'm calling this a complete revamp.

vB4 is currently in pre-sales, and the CMS Suite isn't released yet. They didn't give any dates, but I assume it'll be released sometime between november and january.

vBulletin 4 is exactly what Paranormalis currently needs. In other words, Paranormalis will be in 2010, more than just a forum, it will be a full feature site with a forum. Or a full feature forum-site, if you prefer.

I'm going to post an update when vB4 gets released.

vBulletin 4 Suite is supposed to go Beta this month.

For those interested, vBulletin just installed the CMS Suite on their site: http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/content.php

This is what we are going to use in the next months. The sections are going to be News, Member Articles, and such. The Categories are going to be the same as the sub-forums, like Time Travel, Aliens and UFOs.

The Forum section of the site will remain exactly the same, the only really new groundbreaking features are the home page and articles/content management, in other words, what you see on the link above.

I'll post the next update will be when the Beta gets released to licence holders. I'm going to start working on the next version of the site, and show you screenshots of the new style and features we're going to use.

Paranormalis will be more than a Forum!

The Beta version of vBulletin 4 Suite has been released earlier this week. I've been playing with it most of the day, you can check out how it feels using that link: http://www.paranormalis.com/vb4/. I created a link in the headers to allow you guys to visit the beta site.

I modified some colors to get an idea of what Paranormalis might look like once the move to vB4 is done.

I haven't imported anything, so you won't be able to log in, I'm the only user right now.

Let me know if you're interested to make some tests, I'll give you an account in the beta site.

Just a quick update. vBulletin 4 goes gold on December 21st. I'm going to post an announcement on that day with more complete informations about the coming projects.

I'm going to upgrade Paranormalis on the first week of 2010. Assume some down time, let's say a couple of days until we get back online and ready. I'm going to play a lot with the beta version of the site after the 21st, so some of you might be interested to check often.
