Type 1
Psychic impressions. So called stone tapes, where a traumatic event literally embeds a psychic imprint into the surroundings that can be "played back" to those who are on the same wavelength.
Type 2 Poltergeist activity
Subconscious involuntary psychokinetic activity usually occurring around a child going through puberty. Likely causes are physical changes and hormonal imbalance causing outbursts of undirected mental energy, sympathetic vibration and other associated phenomena. Including faking and attention seeking behaviour.
Type 3 Elemental
The manifestation of phenomena of unknown origin, sometimes a variation on type one where the impression left is not audio visual but emotional, sometimes mistakenly attributed to "demonic" influence, some times possibly extra dimensional messages and or interference.
Type 4 Postmortem survival
I personally do not believe in this one as it has never been proven, maybe a misinterpretation of types 1-3, projections of memories, telepathy or fraud.
