How many earthquake watchers do we have here?

I have been watching earthquake activity almost everyday for about 4 years now. I have noticed a definitive upswing in both the magnitude and multitude of quakes worldwide... personally I believe it is just part of the build up in activity that will collimate with the poleshift come 12/21/2012.

Who else watches earthquake activity around here?

Well thank you for responding. Elsewhere I posted this and I got shills responding saying earthquakes in Oklahoma happen all the time. I can tell you from my time watching that is not true... Hell I remember when the USGS did not include Nevada in the CA/NV maps... thats because Nevada did not used to get many quakes... now its california nevada and utah that get daily quakes.... and nation wide earthquake activity is increasing. Of particular note is Arkansas and Oklahoma in the last year those two states have seen abnormal increases. The Arkansas events are being refered to as the "Guy swam quakes" because they mainly focus in the area of Guy Arkansas.

Since 9.4 in Sumatra the earths tilt has been changing...and that may be a significant factor for increased quakes in strange places. The seismologists say the big super quakes are causing the increased earth tilt... I think it is the other way around... that increase tilt is leading to more quakes.

In January of this year the tilt was so significant some airports had to do some reconfiguration... http://www.foxnews.com/scitech/2011/01/06/magnetic-north-pole-shifts-forces-closure-florida-airport/

This USGS is massaging the data for what ever reason... These days the only kind folks that can deny earthquake activity are those that are just totally ignorant (Not everyone watchs the earthquake maps daily) and those that want to be deceived (PseudoSkeptics). Still when we look at earthquake activity for the last ten years we can see a significant increase in activity in the last few years... and when we compare the quakes of the 2000s to the quake activity of the 90s the increased activity becomes even more pronounced.

the 2000s

the 90s

http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/eqarchives/year/info_1990s.php

As time has gone on the USGS has also decided (just recently too) to stop reporting quakes lower than a 4.5 world wide (yet sometimes they still do) ... It is strange how the USGS plays with the data ..A better quake monitor is the iris

http://www.iris.edu/seismon/

Unfortunately I learned to use the USGS first.... Like an old dog I have trouble learning new tricks sometimes.. Just like I know I need to switch to linux but still rest on windows...LOL

But yeah the data is all their on those to USGS decade charts if anyone wants to take a look. The manipulation of the data in the last three years should be appallingly self evident.

If you compare their data to the USGS data you'll notice huge inconsistencies.

Interesting info. Ive been looking into it as well and noticed that prior to 2009 oklahoma in general had about 50 earthquakes average in a year. This number has gone up to over 1,000 in 2010. Of course most can't be felt but its still a large increase. Also worldwide these changes can be noted. This was a small and short quake but it did freak me out. I hope this is just a phase. Have you heard anything on earthquake predictions? I find that not accurate at all but would like to hear someone elses opinion or thoughts.

I had read recently that a new method/device for predicting earthquakes was being tested out this last year... problem is that it only has a forecast range of seconds ... something like 30 seconds or so... not minutes.... Still, such a thing like that could possibly save lives.... Be darned if I can find the news article .... :S

As for other predictions... Well their is the whole 2012 thing and activity increasing worldwide as we get closer and closer to that alarm clock date.

I just read that there is a stretch of the fault line in OK that has not had any activity, yet.
Normally this would indicate that the stresses are building and have not yet reached a breaking point.
Stay tuned, eh?
