How to "melt" stone by sound

For not understanding the word "melt" here we have the literary sense, as the trace has the appearance of melted. The stone is wiped with a vibration and abrasive.

ive watched videos where they use sound waves to melt stone so i think this may of been used to carve stone statues etc in Egypt as when you look at all the statues and carvings why isent there any mistakes or tons of rubble from accidental mistakes when carving statues etc

High frequency vibration paired with a slurry of abrasive. Of course it will remove stone - so will sandpaper with very low frequency vibration - like rubbing it back and forth on the stone.
