Human history is so tiny. The past is so vast...

If Earth's 4.5 billion year old History were condensed into 24hrs, Dinosaurs would show up at 10:24 PM, vanish at 11:41 PM. Humans Would arrive at 11:58 PM, and all human recorded history? That's just the last three seconds.

Think about it. Let the idea that we are absolutely tiny sink in. Wild.

Consider the tragic absurdity of these people:

An entire race that flourished and then vanished into prehistory and nobody even knew they ever existed until an accidental discovery of some finger bones.

And all we know about them -- all we will probably ever know about them -- is that they had nice fingers.

This is scary. Imagine being forgotten. All that remains of your entire civilization is barely a bunch of teeth and some finger bones.

What else will we most likely never know about?
