I would change it for 2017 to:

If you don't STUDY AND SPECIALIZE.....

Example: Studying History won't get you a job unless you get a teaching degree with it. (Teaching is the specializing part).
Or pick a specific area of study ---- doctor, lawyer, pharmacist, nurse, teacher, etc..... General doesn't pay the bills, unfortunately, at least not very well. There will always be exceptions to every rule, so nobody get mad at me please. lol
