Mo. — A man in Missouri recorded last week the sounds of what he says are vocalizations from an unidentified creature. Bigfoot researcher Randy Savig, 50, told Cryptozoology News on Thursday that the audio was captured in the southwestern part of the Missouri Ozarks. “There is a big mix of vocalizations of known and unknown sounds,” Savig says about the sounds. The 12-minute-long file, recorded with a double parabolic microphone and uploaded to YouTube Monday, contains dog barking sounds and identifiable endemic wildlife, as well as a few repetitive vocalizations Savig refers to as “human-like screams”. Some of these sounds, says Savig, are clearly coming from the local wildlife, such as coyotes or wolves, while others appear to be made by an unidentified creature. “There is more than one type of howl,” he says. “Very seldom do we get vocals like this in one night. The array of various vocals makes it very difficult to say what is what.” Some people believe the use of cameras are a hindrance to the discovery of Bigfoot. Such is the case of the Australian man in charge of the Yowie Listening Project, who believes the creature to be so elusive that the only possible way to capture evidence of its existence is be to use an audio recorder. “I can’t stress how highly elusive these creatures are. They won’t dance for apples under an IR light,” the man, looking for anonymity, told Cryptozoology News last February. And Savig, knowing he can’t prove the sounds he has been recording for years come from an actual Bigfoot, says he has classified the audio as “unknown”. “Even with the use of the spectogram, it is really hard to see where one sounds starts and another starts. It is easy to hear why some many write it off as ‘just coyotes’ and not pay attention to the various sounds.” But as researchers, he says, there is a need to take a deeper look in order to figure out what the mysterious “vocals” really are. “The answer is in the woods,” said Savig. In 2014, a Bigfoot enthusiast recorded a series of sounds in Washington state very similar to the ones from Savig’s audio.
