Extreme Minnesota: Tornado and ice out records shattered

Minnesota tornadoes break record for state's earliest
I am still in shock.
My neighborhood was hit by a F1 tornado on March 6th.
We had been having some unnaturally warm weather for a few weeks when a cold front with high winds came....
I left work early because I felt ill.
When I got closer to home, there were about 5-6 emergency vehicles parked all around my area... I had to drive past my road and backtrack to my respective home.
This was around 7:15 pm..it was dark and there was no electricity.
The harsh light of Tuesday was and still is a breathtaker as the roads were cleared enough to be able to drive my tiny escort around the block.
This coming June will mark the 50th year my home has been in my family name, there have been good and bad years for weather and I have always worried for those hit by weather....never ever experienced anything like what I found....until now.
(Some of my damaged property)

This is all just within walking distance from my home.
Spent Monday night running to the nearest store buying bottled water and batteries for friends and neighbors who needed them..and another flashlight for myself.
Tues. was chaotic surveying the damages and ....putting up with what we call 'storm chasers', every 10 to 15 minutes there was somebody else handing over their cards for restoration, tree services...you name it...some NOT legit.
I am very thankful that it wasn't worse. Most inc. myself, have homes that are still livable even though my side of the block were amongst the last to have power restored.
It's been quite a week to say the least.
It's been a life's lesson to not take anything for granted,
Little things like, running water, heat, refrigeration, etc....
I pray that my fellow neighbors and friends, many whom were hit harder than myself, make it through this disaster.
Those that I have spoken to are all thankful that it wasn't an F2 or larger!
What a way to be part of Mn. state history!
