EAUE CLAIRE, Wis. — A man driving through Wisconsin spotted an unidentified animal he says he looked like a two-legged wolf. David M., a Canadian businessman who provided a last name but requested to be kept anonymous, told Cryptozoology News on Monday that he was driving along Interstate 94 the night of Oct. 1 when he came upon the alleged creature. “I was hoping to make it to the casino in the dells and stay there,” he says. “As I drove along, I noticed a figure moving towards the right side of the road.” David described it as a black 6 to 7 feet tall creature and “fuzzy and shaggy in appearance”. “It was standing upright, slightly leaned forward.” He added that he could not figure out a head or upper limbs because it was “a quick glance”, but that there was one thing about the animal that really captured his attention. “Its legs. They were slender and backwards from that of a human… and were dog-like in anatomy with long sloped cannon bones. The cannons were sloped nearly 45 degrees and very long, about 3 feet.” The strange biped, he says, walked with a “very peculiar gait”. “It was sort of bobbing up and down, but athletic.” Then, he recalls, the “figure” took about three steps and was out of sight. “I did not see it cross in front of me as when it came into view was just as it came into my headlights range. It was not running or moving with haste, just bobbing along in a brisk walk. I will never forget the strange gait, and the way the legs looked. It looked like it could run very fast if it had to or wanted to.” The Canadian businessman says he is sure that it was not human or an animal he had ever seen before. “Not a deer, bear, cow, elk, horse, or any other animal. The closest animal comparison I could make would be a black panther with shaggier coat, slender, walking upright and with longer legs… or like some sort of hairy centaur.” And Dave, who claims he had always thought Bigfoots and “other cryptids” were hoaxes, says skepticism has quickly dissipated and now believes he could have been looking at the Wisconsin Wolfman. “I am from Ontario and had never been through Wisconsin before in my life. I had not heard of any Wisconsin werewolf or anything of the sort before this. Have now looked at some of the photos around online and a few appear very similar, but what I saw seemed a bit more lanky,” he said. He provided Cryptozoology News with a sketch of the purported creature. Dave M. drew this sketch for Cryptozoology News Back in March, a 13-year-old in Muskego, Wisconsin, allegedly had an encounter with a similar creature. In 2015, a group of three people in Michigan reportedly came across an unidentified dog-like creature in the woods of St. Clair County. The Dogman is a cryptid reputed to live in the northwestern quadrant of Michigan’s Lower Peninsula, although other sightings have been documented in other states, such as Wisconsin. This unproven creature was first reportedly spotted in 1887 by two lumberjacks, who described it as having a human body and a dog’s head.
