Need help with Computer problem:

When I try to put my computer asleep, I keep getting a message that there is a file or directory that is corrupt (I think it's a Temporary file)...and it says "please run the chkdsk utility".

Problem is, I don't know what the "chkdsk utility" is or how to access or use it. :( I deleted all Temporary files, but that message keeps popping up.

Can anyone instruct me on how to solve this problem?

Thanks in advance.

Here is how to do it:

1. Open the Start Menu and click on the Computer button on the right dark side. (My Computer in Windows XP)
2. Right click the hard disk drive that you want to check (Probably drive C:), and click on Properties.
3. Click on the Tools tab, and click on the Check now button under Error-checking.
4. Check both check-boxes and click OK.
5. It will ask you if you want to schedule a disk check at next Windows startup. Click Schedule disk check.

I used that page to come up with those steps:

Thanks Boss! My computer fixed itself when I turned it off and then on again. But I copied those instructions for the next time. I really appreciate your help! :)
