I think the guy wants to know why there is positive electricity + and negative electricity - and why they happen. @Einstein answered correctly. For more information google it. Assuming you posting in the time travel thread you would want to use this basic knowledge to build something ... then why not say it from the begining when the answear to your question can be found with a quick google search or on youtube.

Positive goes to negative. You can use this with chemistry and separate molecules if interested.
