[QUOTE="wyldberi, post: 106013, member: 6095"] The term black flag is one I'm not familiar with. It might be a gap in my education, but I don't recall coming across people using the term interchangeably with a false flag operation. I tend to associate the term black with black ops, which are clandestine operations carried out by military and intelligence operations that are not directly sanctioned by governmental policies or overseeing authorities. - The term false flag is something I'm quite familiar with. The key there, to me, is, as the OP states, an operation carried out directly by a government in order to sway public opinion and sentiment so that the public will support a policy they most likely would not otherwise support. - The primary example of a false flag operation from the 20th Century was the burning of the German parliament building, which the NAZI's proceeded to blame upon the Communists. There were multiple objectives for this operation. In addition to helping Hitler dispose of the German Constitution, it reinforced the concept of foreigners who were not true Germans at heart, which was eventually translated into a fear and hatred of ethnic minorities such as the Jews and Gypsies. - September 11, 2001 is a contemporary example of a false flag operation. The often quoted PNAC document laid out the purpose for this act well before the U.S. Supreme Court stopped the national election of 2000 and basically proclaimed bush/cheney to be the winners of that contest. - Pearl Harbor does not reach the status of a false flag operation in my estimation. It was a very real attack by a foreign nation upon the USA. There's a book written by a man named Stinnert, I believe, that details how the U.S. military deliberately withheld intelligence they possessed from local commanders in the Pacific theater of operations. Like 9/11, the goal was to muster American support to enter a war the People were against; Roosevelt wanted to change public opinion, and Pearl Harbor is what his military commanders gave him. Unlike Pearl Harbor, the neo-con usurpers of the American government engaged the services of demolition experts to bring the towers in New York City crashing to the ground. That's what made 9/11 a false flag operation. Whether there were or weren't hijackers who flew planes into the towers, it was the demolition experts who made sure the desired effect was achieved.
