The future of war for better or worse.

The future of war may be changing sooner than we think. A few years ago NATO was faced with facing a threat from overwhelming Soviet conventional forces. The plan of action to deal with this was to use limited tactical nuclear weapons if necessary. Fortunately, this threat was never put to the test.

Today, the Soviets are backing up Assad in Syria. There is a growing threat by Turkey, Saudi Arabia and other to send in air power and ground troops to remove Assad from power. This is in a large part a Sunni vs Shia based action. The Soviets have determined that the use of tactical nuclear weapons would be the best way to deal with this. As the situation changes in the middle east we may find this strategy finally realized and nuclear weapons used this way in battle for the first time.

Key you eye on what is going on over there in the next few weeks.
