I have always assumed that the Pope would be the leader of the Church based on his relationship to Christ through re velaton or something. But. I have also heard that Catholics do not believe in Modern revelation. However, and I admit it was on TV, watching this election it sounded like the cardinals were voting based on personality or ambition or something. I really don't understand the process. So what are the doctrinal views of alleged prophecies of Malachi, and other "Catholic Mystics" like a Father Wingate and his group?
