Interesting she was a diamond in the rough however I still don't get what the big deal with mona lisa is. i've seen the painting but, it didn't look like anything special

It was a creation of Leonardo DaVinci who was a genius. That's what makes the painting so special. Although many others give more meaning to the Mona Lisa. I believe it was the mystique of the unknown origins of the lady in the painting, which have more recently come to light.
