Allstate is really making a push for homeowner’s to contact them and purchase some insurance. They are running commercials ad nauseum where their now infamous guy “Mayhem” has just broken into someone’s home and is selling their prized possessions for ridiculously low amounts. This is, of course, designed to make viewers believe Allstate has your back in this situation. The reality: all of the items in those commercials would either not be enough to be worth the premium increase and deductible or better yet, get you promptly cancelled. So much for Mr. Mayhem’s people looking out for you. They are right. People do break into homes and sell hugely valuable belongings for yard sale prices. The idea that homeowners insurance has your back is not just comical, but an actual insult.
