[QUOTE="Justinian, post: 64828, member: 923"] I'm going to have to disagree with you Loopi. I think that even if you take away money, and even given another currency did NOT come to bear, that powerful elitists would find a way to rule things. I like to play a game called, "Europa Universalis III". In this game you can select various periods of history around WWII. And it got me thinking about this topic particularly. Back in the day, there were basically only a handful of empires that spanned the globe. British, Dutch, French, Spanish. And we're just supposed to believe that these empires gave up their colonies just because? I mean the crown fought hard for the 13 colonies to stay part of the empire, yet they want us to believe that out of the kindness of their hearts they let the others become free? I tend to not believe this. A King just does not give up his crown. Even yesterday I was just reading an article on how the British monarchy always wears the crown until death. They refuse to relinquish control. Good point. BP. The British empire gives up territorial control of its colonies, yet BP retains control over the oil reserves. Just something to think about.
