One thing I have noticed by interacting with so many people is that, when presented with something that requires analyzing or being introduced to a new idea, they tend to reject it in favor of what they have already decided. That is to say that they do not want to discover, understand or learn, but rather to reinforce what they know. They want to be proven right. It is about the human ego. People attach their ego to something/everything, then, when whatever that is is called into question, they go on the defense in response to a perceived threat or exposure of vulnerability. This seems to be true with religion, politics, 'science', time travel, paranormal, etc., or anything beyond the established norm. Instead of inquiring about whatever is introduced, instead of trying to deepen their understanding, people will tend to ridicule and criticize, wholly reject and condemn. Thinking inside the box is their comfort zone. I posit that the human ego is a big part of what inhibits our species from progressing to our optimum potential, or at least slows our rate of evolution. I found something extraordinary that works similar to your "portal", only it is a bit more complex, larger in scale, and applicable to the time line. It ties a few things together and has the potential to change things. Unfortunately, I cannot share for the ineptitude of humanity and selfish evil nature. Seeing it is like being in a prison of solitude.
