  • “Six mistakes mankind keeps making century after century
    Believing that personal gain is made by crushing others;
    Worrying about things that cannot be changed or corrected;
    Insisting that a thing is impossible because we cannot accomplish it;
    Refusing to set aside trivial preferences;
    Neglecting development and refinement of the mind;
    Attempting to compel others to believe and live as we do.”
    ― Marcus Tullius Cicero
    Remember when "1984" was a novel -- and not an instruction manual?
    Ironic that, in a year called "2020", so many were so blind.

    Yes, we can admit there are a lot fools in this world. But we can also admit that most Americans aren't stupid.

    I am becoming less certain of that with each passing day.

    Man, I hope you turn out to be wrong. People have got to wake up and stop being sheeple!
    I am beginning to believe that there are some here who do not understand the concept of satire. Ditto sarcasm.

    I made a reference to The Reknown They (those anonymous people whom are recklessly referred to in postings across the US as in> "That's what THEY say."). I was taken...seriously. :)

    How surprising!
    (That was sarcastic, by the way. Not that I need to tell you that, but some may be unaware.)

    Oh! How dare you be so concise!
    ;)
    Prove a poem? Seriously? Although in this case a cursory examination of any recent newspaper would suffice.

    prove that the poems abstract metaphorical description of society and or events within a certain time period is correct, the metaphorical analysis not that the writing was written by a poet; though prove that the newspaper is accurate just assuming would be a fallasy. Never were there to verify what was writen is fact, never asked the poet, that is a common fallasy and probally why the supposed fake news media exists
