    Question

There is no absolute universal frame of reference - The entire solar system is moving relative to the galactic centre. The galaxy is moving relative to any other galaxy you choose. There is nowhere that is the "centre" of the universe, because the outer "edge" is expanding at the speed of light...

Would you make the "Long Jump"?

You'd have to bring crops and animals, but almost anywhere would be easy to survive in if it wasn't during an ice age and if there was enough oxygen. I was aiming to write a book about how to survive if accidentally transported back in time (never managed to get far, though someone else did...

Step-by-step guide to use the HDR

I have an ongoing project with a folder of all the schematic PDFs people have posted here. One day I'm going to go through them all and try each one by one (while being careful to not electrocute myself, because you know, these designs are not always safe).

I’m here to discuss mostly about time travel

I really really relate to you there.... It's always been one of my favourite things to think about. The possibilities are almost endless for what you could do, even with a single one way trip. I wouldn't expose them, I'd try to engineer a system in which the criteria for becoming massively...

Interview Real Time Traveler -I know Everything about time travel.

Hey, they're a large part of why I'm here. I enjoy seeing, even if they aren't real, how far along they can manage to get before being found out. Plus, if the improbable happens and it's an actual time traveller, I can say I was there, even if it seems likely to be fake at first.

    Project Looking Glass

e.g literally translates to "for example", but people still pronounce it e.g and it's recognised either way as the same meaning. If I were reading and saw e.g I'd say e.g. Pronounced ee (rhymes with bee) gee (the first syllable of Jesus in UK/US English) Another word for warranty is a contract...

i finally figure it out, it was right there all along

I know, it's semantic, you're equally right to say positron or anti-electron. I'm just spreading knowledge rly. Philosophy in time travel is a bit different to regular philosophy though I think. I mean it more in a colloquial sense - it's your perception of what time travel is, and your...

i finally figure it out, it was right there all along

Nerd instincts are kicking in: Anti-electrons are positrons. The more you know! Unless you mean supersymmetric anti-electrons which would be a Selectron or... the super-partner to a positron, which is as-yet unnamed as far as I can tell. A few philosophies say that time isn't really a thing...

    Verification of Potential Time Travelers

The ways to verify time travellers are these as far as I can tell: 1. Ask a question about the future: Unreliable - How many details, within any given week, would you know if transported any time in the last decade? I know major things like presidents getting elected, but like. 6th June 2015...

Let's suppose that the Earth really is hollow. What's the quickest path to enter?

sorry to bump this ancient thread but i couldnt resist the teachable moment cause i'm a geology student.... yes, the core is magma, but it's under such pressure that it's a solid. the mantle is more liquid, but still flows extremely slowly (albeit with extreme force, hence everything to do with...

Time travelers...WHATS GOING TO HAPPEN SEPTEMBER 20th AT AREA 51?

Hey, it's not millenials, it's gen Z now. Time is inexorably marching us towards every single person on earth being a dumbass and then dying. Just as it always has

Justin Trudeau is the illegitimate son of Fidel Castro

I did some digging; Apparently his mother didn't visit Cuba until 4 or 5 years after he was born. It's possible he could be Castro's son but via another woman - His mother divorced his father when he was 6. My brain is kind of fried at the moment so I'll look into that more later :P

Are you sure?:unsure::unsure: Maybe take a DNA test ;)

Justin Trudeau is the illegitimate son of Fidel Castro

Hey everyone, long time no see. I just came across this theory, and to me (kind of a skeptic) it actually seemed highly plausible. It changes very little and really has no impact on anything but I thought it was neat. Some comparisons: This is Castro with Trudeau's parents: Here he is...

    AVENGERS ENDGAME

It seems to be internally consistent at the very least.... Until someone finds an infinity stone IRL though, I'd say the way it works is highly contingent on it being in that universe ;) (or multiverse??) I appreciate the way the movie set out guidelines and followed them. There were some plot...

I want to change my Username but need help making a new one.

Oops, in that case, you can literally copy the name of someone you respect, if you feel like you can fill those boots. That's what I would do.

I want to change my Username but need help making a new one.

I'm considering completely nuking/casting off my current online identity (since it has roots in me, age 12, which means it will have some stupid stuff in its history...) and coming up with a new one, and what I do to think of a new username is go here: Random Word and pick a word I really like...

I thought of something while talking with a friend.

It doesn't age you, I thought...?

I thought of something while talking with a friend.

Huh, it's probably somewhat over my head.... but yes, time is a quality of space, proven by how gravity distorts space which slows time. I guess the question you're asking with: is "why do wormholes allow instant travel", and the answer to that is like, super complicated and can only be...

I thought of something while talking with a friend.

As a rule, if your body is experiencing time, your brain is as well (since it's part of your body...), excluding unconsciousness. So, if the time travel appears instant to you, then I would say it follows that it's instant to your body, and if it takes 1 second to go through a wormhole, you age...
