But I think the people who do experience these fixations will tell you there is much more to it than just thinking it will happen. Strange stuff gets caught up in it.

You know this is all very interesting to me.
Since I was a child it seems I always look at the clock at 10:06 AM or PM. To scare the hell out of me, my brother told me back then that 10:06 would be the hour of my death. I guess his "suggestion" kind of made it special for me. Oh well.

I was raised by nuns and all teaching Catholics avoid teaching the bible to kids--too much open to interpretation. They tell us the stories that fit their Papal agenda only. So by the time we get to college, we see the bible as neither God's direct word nor just history and poetry but a fear-of-nuns blending of the two. :huh: It is hard to explain. It might make one more open to conspiracy theories and sci-fi hoaxes...

This thread interests me too, since I have noticed ONLY in the past few months that I often see either 11:11 or 1:11 on the clock. It's not according to what I'm doing that causes me to see it (like it's the time I usually go to lunch or something)...it seems very very random.
I had a strong sense someone was sending me a message. In my own particular situation, I decided to interpret it as God sending me reminders to keep Him #1 in my life.
To each his own, I guess!
