They Found a Mysterious Box in a Dumpster – What Was In It Baffles Everyone
Sunday, July 5, 2015

The box looks handmade fitted with hinges, handle and two locks.

It looks like the author had some other-world experience.

Handwritten table of elements.

Here is a patent that was never filed with the United States Patent Office – But things get weirder from here…

This diagram was dated 1939.

Weirdly this map shows air travel routes.

A lot of the maps are hand-drawn with a center to the map.

They are depicting some sort of aerial routes.

There was a bunch of maps.

With baffling mysteries that continue.

Here’s a note from the previous owner.

Yet another map.

A very old note from the Veterans Affairs office.

The artist shows us an event that took place in Tampa, FL in 1977. He states that there was extraterrestrial involved.

Very weird to see UFO’s and angelic looking beings on the same page.

Drawing of angelic being.

A brief summary of events.

Some geometric shapes.

More angelic beings that look like something out of the biblical book of Revelation.

Was this some sort of dream or did this really happen?

Some think this looks like wheels within wheels.

The drawings look like a weird mix of alien and biblical.

Close up of the corner.

Some drawings are from the patent seen before.

One of the patent drawings/diagram.

Looks like some new train wheels.

So what do you think?

I believe you could spend hours reading over each drawing. To me it looks like one man's Time Capsule over a 40 or 50 year time span. I need to bring it up on my Mac to see the details of each drawing, my windows 8.1 is not working as well as my mac.

Roughly 29" by 38" on the exterior. It smells of basements and dampness.

Most pieces are around 20" x 30", a number of the pages in here are blank.

Text on a poster (with corrections). I feel that I should comment on the content, but I really don't know what to say about this.

Nicely lettered and drawn, useful information.

The box itself seems to be a typical artist's portfolio. These were used to hold and transport sheets of large format paper flat during the 19th century. These boxes were made of veneers (early type of plywood). They were largely phased out by less expensive materials, probably during the 1950's - 60's. There's a large artist supply store at Market and Mission Streets in San Francisco called FLAX; they still carried these classic cases the last time I was there.
-
The large sheets of text are proofs from a typesetter; they're not written by hand. I don't know what typeface is being used, but if you look at the lower case letter "r" you can see how uniform the formation of that character is. There are at least two versions of Page 1, one containing corrections and added text; and at least one sheet has the circle with a cross in it in the margin which is a printing registration mark.
-
I'd hazard a guess that part of the items in the case are from an unpublished book intended to sit on the coffee tables in people's living rooms for guests to leaf through while they waited for the household member they had come to see. The subject matter had something to do with UFO's, and from some of the text I read, the author was trying to take a non-committal stance one way or the other. I have a book my dad owned after WW-2 that was similar in nature. It was a book of maps measuring about 14" x 20" that showed the changing and relative positions of Japanese and U.S. military forces in the Pacific region at different dates during the War.

This is pretty interesting, the artwork is great. It REALLY reminded me of some pages from the The Voynich Manuscript : The Voynich Manuscript : Free Download & Streaming : Internet Archive , particularly the portions towards the back of the book including those with depictions of people or figures and a techno-organic setting. Looking further there is apparently a HUGE Reddit investigation going on to find more about Daniel Christiansen : Daniel Christiansen's Mystery Box
It is too much for me to go through right now but it seems pretty cool.

Sorry, but I am somewhat less than baffled.

Harte
I'm with Harte on this one.........not sure I understand the big "mysteries"........I guess it depends a lot on what you have experienced in your life and what you have not..........something you have NEVER seen of or heard of before tends to have the "Wow! Effect" I think.

Talk to someone who deals in antiques for example.....you see boxes like this, and other "strange" looking items, including drawings, artwork, etc.....

Without the proper "context" in place, it may seem as a mystery.

I know a 10 year old that draws amazing "scenes" of alien/hybrid war eras, mixed with swastika/Hindu symbolism that will "Numb" your brain........

People seem to also forget how terrible our technology is when it comes to dating things........a great example is that currently we now have evidence that Mars had lots of water for WAY longer than previously calculated.........about 3 BILLION YEARS OFF!

That's a "B" for BILLION!!!!

If you factor this into any evolution type model, you find Mars having water for 3 billion years longer than previously thought CHANGES EVERYTHING!!

When I see things like aerial maps that are found to be older than the Wright Brothers first flight date, I don't think mystery or aliens, and especially NOT time travelers, I think terrible dating methods, and missing evidence that exist, and just has not been found yet.

Think about our oceans, how little we have explored them, and where water is now, was once dry land........

I think we have for sure short changed our ancestors and especially the technology they used which is STILL more advanced than what we have today.
