Dissecting my HDR and hopefully going under the tape (and it's some good tape - so good I need a scalpel and hemostats)

Next we go under the tape.
Stay tuned ;)

NOTE: a quicker way to open the images is to
Right Click on the image and choose,"Open Link in New Tab".
This will open just the image in a new tab on your computer
and you can enlarge or copy and save from there.

As I go through the HDR, I'll post what I know about the components.
Steven Gibbs purchased most of the parts from Digi-key and Radio Shack.
Some of the parts are now discontinued, but can be found on Ebay.

I'll try to answer any questions about parts as best as I can or am able to find out.

My goal is to keep Steven Gibbs
and the Hyper-Dimensional Resonator (for lack of a better term) "alive".

Thank you for support and interest.

Hey @FarOutThere ,
What kind of tape is this and where do I get it?

Because I would like to put my HDR back together after I do this ;)
Thanks

Thank you for posting these interesting photos.

Your HDR is a later model than mine and it looks quite different inside, particularly the wires and tape used.

The glue looks the same, you can see it dripped down under the banana sockets. :geek:

The tape looks like standard electrical tape, PVC I guess. Get it everywhere.

Thanks @FarOutThere ,

So something like this:
VE-75 Heavy Duty Fire Retardant 7 Mil 19mm X 20m White Safety Electrical Tape
VE-75 Heavy Duty Fire Retardant 7 Mil 19mm X 20m White Safety Electrical Tape | eBay

I'm use to black electrical tape.
But I guess Steven used this because of the T electromagnet getting so hot
it would melt regular black tape.

Just ordered 2 rolls ;)

And found some cool colors:

1 Roll Yellow Vinyl PVC Electrical Tape 2" x 66' Flame Retardant Free Shipping

s-l1600 (15).jpg

It will make my operational, life size, 8 foot tall, Delta T Antenna "meditation" platform, look cool.

Looks good, I'm sure its fine, unless you want to measure the tape width and find the exact brand.

The tape in your HDR looks like the tape on my electromagnet.

Is that the electromagnet I sent you?

and is there different tape on the inside of your HDR?

Don't you still owe me for the magnet,
or is that one of your "counter-parts" ;)

(actually you don't owe me anything, I'm just glad to help a fellow HDR user)
but your counter-part owes me a beer ;)

You (or one of your counterparts) sent me an electromagnet and I am eternally grateful. If you ever need rare parts I will gladly send some your way.

Shortly after receiving the electromagnet I was contacted (via snail mail) by someone calling himself Doc 06. He claimed to have sent me an electromagnet and requested some heavy compensation. Immediately, I sent $100,000, thinking it was a small price to pay for such a rare piece of T shaped steel. Now I'm wondering if it was one of your counterparts. :ROFLMAO: Hopefully he at least put it to good use on some sort of Time Travelling machine. I doubt I have seen the last of him.
