Big Foot And Hairy Man, Austin, Texas

First, the "Hairy Man". In an effort to placate superstitous property buyers, the name of this rural road has been changed from "Hairy Man" to "Hairy Mann"in the 1980s. The road's original name referred to the dozens of sightings of the "Hairy Man Ghost", perhaps a "Big Foot" type creature reported to be always in the area. Once, several witnesses saw "Hairy Man" chasing a goat down the middle of the dirt road.

Next, the Ottine Swamp Monster. Described as a tall, gray, hairy creature that has been spotted in the swamp and around "Warm Springs" Foundation building there. For want of a better nane, locals call it "The Thing". One night, the "monster" violently shook a trailer home parked on the edge of the swamp but never bother anyone at the campgrounds in nearby Palmentto State Park. The creature leaves strange marks that look like a woman's hand without a thumb. Most of the sightings took place in the 1970s.
