Something pretty spectacular happened yesterday in the mainstream media. For the first time in decades, the mainstream media was speculating about the President of the United States declaring martial law.
Nothing says freedom like a martial law declaration.
This was not Alex Jones on a conspiracy website musing about how Barack Obama had something up his sleeve. This was major networks like CNN and Fox News both offering up their own takes on whether Trump could do it and whether it would be a positive move.
It’s the kind of thing you should be reading here at Common Sense Conspiracy, not in your local news. And yet, here we are. But this time, they were not totally to blame. There are reports coming from those very close to the President that martial law has found itself actually being thrown around the table as the President meets with chief advisors to decide what his next play is if he still endeavors to overturn the 2020 election results.
Trump is pro-military, but are they pro-Trump?
Is it possible? Sure. The President and Vice President have the ability to do this. It has been done, actually several times before. Flynn is not exactly right, but it has been declared in various American areas 68 times prior to now. Granted no time in recent memory, but hey, that just means good times, right? Trump could declare it, try to advance his cause perhaps by confiscating voting machines or whatever it is that he thinks will help his cause, and then basically put the nation into a state of chaos and suspension. This kind of power is given to the President for emergencies and instances of major concern for national security. After all, dude leads the military according to the United States doctrine. He can do it if he wants.
Will Trump attempt such a thing? Well, the reports say that others are talking him down. It would be really bad news. You have to remember that the United States is unbelievably divided when it comes to presidential politics. There are millions upon millions on both sides that would or would not agree, and at this point, with presumed President-elect Joe Biden putting together a cabinet and addressing the U.S. populace regularly, it would almost guarantee civil war. Trump famously compares himself to Abraham Lincoln, but does he want to that far with the comparison? Seeing which one handles a civil war the best?
The bottom line — if the mainstream media is worried about it, you probably have nothing to worry about. If it was a real concern, they would spend their time acting like it wasn’t possible or dredging up twenty-five other nonsensical items to counteract it. They know that Trump is going to do no such thing, but they like to make it a headline. If you can get clicks and bash Trump, well, that’s a mainstream media dream.
