Looks a lot like flares, but it's so out of focus I cannot tell for sure. He said he saw it behind an aircraft. I'd like to know what kind of aircraft he thought he saw. Shady J is about 130 miles away from there. There is an Army air field a little bit closer.
It doesn't seem to be fake to me. Just very real flares.

Okay. I had paused it in the middle where he shows the flares. The plane he shows at the end looks like an A300. Civilian.
The flares were probably from a fighter on a training sortie, but because it was so far away in the daytime he couldn't see the aircraft that dropped the flares.

If you pause the video at 4:44, that last aircraft looks like a KC-46, which would definitely support the idea that those are flares.
