The medias and everything we read and watch is all about health. It seems less people are smoking than 20 years ago.

I'm curious to know what you think about this. Do you think that less and less people are smoking?

I do. Back when I was a kid, a lot of my relatives were smoking. Now, only one or 2 of them are smoking. ....And no, the rest of them didn't die of cancer or anything in the mean time. They're all alive and well, and they quit smoking at some point during the last 15 years or so.

What about the people you know? Do you think less people are smoking?

I quit back in 2000 and have noticed that many coworkers, over the years, have also quit. Health is one reason to quit but financial is another. I can't believe how much money it costs to smoke...reason enough to stop.
Older smokers seem to stop smoking while younger people pick up the habit...cause it's so cool. lol...cough...cough

I never smoked and never will. In my family only my grandfather used to smoke. Now he stopped because he's afraid of having any health problems. There are also many people I know who stopped smoking for the same reason.

Yes, less people are smoking cigarettes while more people are smoking grass, meth, popping zoloft for depression and viagra to lift their spirits.

Cigarettes is evidence that the FDA is corrupt and does not support quit smoking labels on cigarettes. It's okay to smoke if it's bad for you.

I have noticed that, in my area at least, younger people aren't as likely to be seen smoking as are older folks. I do know many who have quit God knows I have tried.
.I smoke the equivalent of a pack and a half to two packs a day. I make my own cigs with bagged tobacco and filter tubes, but it's still expensive. Befire this last tax hike, a pound canister of Bugler was 11.37 usd, now the same container is 33.00 or more

I have tried the patch, the lozenge pills, suckers inhalers everything except hyptno therapy And that's next. I know I am killing myself, and I refuse to light up near people that don't smoke A lot of smokers don't have that respect for common courtesy.

I have also noticed that a larger percentage of people in my area have began to smoke methamphetamine and pills, and the such in the last year or so.

I do, on occasion, smoke marijuanna, and Honestly will probably never quit that Have never wanted to quit that From where I stand, at least thats all natural and not as dangerous as tobacco.

I know this is an old thread, but it's still important to society.

It has been a while since I have smoked either cigarettes or Marijuana. What are the cost comparison, lets say a pack of cigarettes compared to twenty joints?
I quit smoking when I had my first heart attack...remembering my last puff as I walked into the emergency room.
I may look at other means of kicking the habit instead of a heart attack.Tell as many people you know you are kicking the habit (peer pressure may help), get on the patch, or every time you crave one tear apart a cigarette and put it in your mouth...this is an old Indian method I had read about.
Good luck!
