"After cars go electric and autonomous, the next big disruption will be in airplanes," says Maurice Ricci, French entrepreneur and CEO of Akka Technologies, in his "Link & Fly" pitch to Boeing.

Passengers would take a local train the size of an Airbus A320 to the airport, where deltoid wings would be attached for take-off. The detachable wings make turnover at airports faster and boarding closer to home easier. Cargo models will be autonomous.

It looks even cooler than it sounds (which is quieter than a commercial airliner).

Id rather fly on a plane that still had a pilot on board just in case. Humans can improvise solutions when things go wrong where as a computer can not.
