I've read a number threads concerning the Briar. A time travelling secret police force that enforce the Henry directives and very rarely if sanctioned manipulates events in history to protect the human race. Easier said than done.
Although strict in the policing and their punishments for those time Travelers that break the directives are perceived as draconian. They are the good guys as they ensure a stable timeline.
I am a temporal agent in-service to the Briar. Stein also becomes 1 of the 11 temple agents in-service for them.
The Briar sent Stein back to the year 1969 to make subtle changes to the timeline in the hope of eradicating or at least attenuating the (disease BSR) that rendered humankind infertile. It had modest effects.
Stein was the first person to demonstrate that time could be changed even if it was just very very subtly.
I wish I could mention the name Stein is best known by. But I fear both the post and me would disappear from this forum if I did.
