I would rather have no insurance, which is currently the case, than support a bill that hands over more money to the rich insurance companies. Paul Ryan has an agenda to take down President Trump and I'm sure Trump sees right through this. By allowing this bill to fail, he has made Ryan look really BAD. Checkmate!

This is also a win because real democracy has played out. Both sides had to fight it out and they had to vote. It proves that very few were paid off. The government worked as it was supposed to.

Trump is a salesman. The art of the deal! I bet the next one will be perfect. Bet on it! I'm willing to wait!

Trump will work things out because a salesman, a good one, never gives up with a no, cause a 'no' means they just don't have enough information to make it a 'yes'.

I would like the government to subsidize pre-existing conditions, which is a big unknown for insurers regarding their costs. The states should have control and be able to work with insurers across state lines attracting competitive pricing. We don't need a program that runs like the Post Office. Maybe a small percentage of sales tax could help offset individual premium costs. We are paying one way or another anyway.
Paul Ryan seems to be congratulating himself and fellow republicans for failing...like a snowflake participation trophy, which doesn't make any sense.

Oh yes, the first thing he said was that he was proud of himself. I bet he had a phone call from mama right before that failure speech.

His wife told him after his great speech, "honey buttercup, you did sooooo good today. I told you you should be President. Now hurry home...I washed your pink blankie for you and teddy."

Maybe he even had a pacifier in his pocket.

It's come out that part of the problem was the Koch brothers giving money to Republicans to stop the bill and to make sure Trump couldn't eliminate funding to Planned Parenthood.

Trump called them on it and told them he'd get the bill he wants with or without them.

He also called down Ryan.

These fools have repeated their bs. for so long they've begun to believe it.

They don't even have common sense.

They keep saying he's crazy and he's stupid. Well I don't know how many crazy stupid people could have built casinos and hotels around the world dealing with the mob, American and Russian.

How many crazy people could have built hotels in countries supporting terrorism.

These idiots need to get their head out of their butts and start working for America or become extinct.

Yes, the downfall is that liberals are still killing babies , but they'd find a way to do it regardless considering that they have no regard for human life. And yes, it sucks that lobbying was involved. I just hope that when a GOOD bill is written that it isn't shot down by congress again in the same way.

Our government is way too big --- hundreds of senators. Really? Do we really need that many? It seems like any clown can become a senator. Look at Al Franken. He's a failed comedian. Well, I'm not laughing, are you?

Paul Ryan WASTED America's time. Trump wanted to solve healthcare fast but Ryan developed this piece of crap to intentionally delay Trump's agenda. What exactly does it take to make Ryan step down as speaker?

I think that's an excellent idea, if done right.
By that I mean I'd go along with that subsidy as long as it was arranged to prevent people from buying insurance at the last minute, which is the situation we have now.
"I'm going into surgery - let me call an insurance agent."

I don't think Trump is going to "work this out." I think that, at least for the time being, he and the Republicans are left with a half-win. They will allow Obamacare to completely implode and then see what the Democrats say about the health care system that (because of their own intransigence) they STILL own.

All they have to do is sit back and, when the system crashes, they can say "we tried to fix this but we needed some Democrat votes."

Being concerned about people buying insurance at the last minute ends up hurting people like me. I had cancer. It's gone now, but they assume I'm high risk now and charge me more or try not to cover me at all (without laws preventing that).

I'd be happy with a 6 month waiting period for procedures that are not emergencies. (i.e. it wouldn't be nice to not cover an unexpected heart attack).

Speaking of check mate I need to finish a game of chess in which my opponent is in check :sleep:
Back to the actual topic though, I had mixed feelings about the bill. On the one hand, anything is better then ObamaCare, but on the other, it wasn't THAT much better
