If I were to somehow actually time travel but only to the past, how could I prove it?

The answer is extremely simple, you could compare it to “reversed engineering”:
You should think what would be for you indubitable proof offered by someone pretending to come from the future, then do the exact same to those from the past whom you visit.

Any proof for travelling to the past would obviously include videos of some historic event, such as JFK being murdered...But then again, what are the chances of any video recorder NOT being capable of recording past events, because of the Butterfly Effect happening? ;):D..

if you go into time grab something like a coin with its date on it and whatever head is on it it will last and not fall to peaces like paper and books

Thats not proof of time-travelling Cobber, newmismatists (coin collectors) even have Roman coins with Neros mug shot on them :D..
I even have a Roman coin with 100 BC stamped onto it ;)

but if you traveled in time back to neros age the coins you bring back would be in better condition or mint condition with no wears and tears of the ages and be worth a fortune then, but if you go into the future and bring back a future coin it be very interesting then

Good point Steve, but those Nero coins would have been covered in the lava from the eruption of Mount Vesuvius, which would have hidden the coins for thousands of years :cry::D..
