What kind of society would we have if we were allowed to acknowledge that there are things that are real that are not physical? The people who run things would not be able to instill fear in to us. That is the point of rewriting religious documents because the easiest way to control large numbers of people is to tell them they must fear some deity and that we are just lowly humans with no power.
