John Titor's Fighting Diamondbacks Militia Is Real

There are several Diamondback militias in the southwestern states. One of the them is eerily similar to the Deadly Viper Death Squad, featured in the Quentin Tarantino film Kill Bill. Florida has its share of militias, make no mistake about that. Florida actually has the largest number of concealed weapons permit holders of any state in the union, and likely of any area on the planet. The odd thing is that Florida does not have nearly the population that California or Texas do, meaning that there is a very large, disproportionate demographic of gun owners in the state of Florida, including the illegal citizens and illegal gun owners. Just think of the State of Florida as one giant military base. Remember to always be polite, smile and waive when coming to visit the Gunshine State. We love our tourists almost as much as we love our Constitution and Bill of Rights.

To answer you question, it appears the militia formed out of necessity, an act of desperation, perhaps perpetrated by local citizens in a time of need. I couldn't imagine people would be desperate enough to act prior to conflict. The appearance of an enemy is exactly what is needed to unite people out of their sofa laden stupors. Who would a militia take up arms against if there was no common threat or conflict?

Something I have yet to divulge to the forum regarding the ammunition situation. 12 guage shotgun shells are actually very easy to recycle by simply: #1 replacing the primers,#2 repacking with gunpowder,#3 adding wad,#4 adding a layer of pellets/fletchets/rocksalt/ or anything else you would like to accelerate to 1200 FPS, and #5 end cap wadding. Someone once made up a handful of non lethal rounds that fired out flimsy little circular wads of cardboard. You cannot imagine the things that flimsy little wads of cardboard can do at 1200 feet per second..........

2. why was he in a shotgun unit? most militias use semi auto weapons like AKs and ARs ect. what i get from the shotgun thing is, times must have been desperate for a unit to be formed up of shotguns. why not use better weapons?

Consider this...

A couple of years into a civil war, ammo will be hard to come by. Unlike rifle and pistol rounds, shotgun shells are much easier to re-manufacture. So long as you have primers and powder, you can reuse them. Arguably, you can even re-manufacture primers, and can produce home-made powder, or the entire shell if you have the right tools and materials. I suppose you can even make a shotgun itself with a metal shop. And you can shoot just about anything out of a shotgun that will fit into a shell...including rocks if you had to. Cut shells and wax rounds are more or less slugs, will go through a vest, explode upon entry of a chest cavity(or whatever)and are also easy to make. Shot is more suited for taking out moving aerial targets like small UAV's and foul(food) too. In short, it is because shotguns are a simple, effective, versatile, practical, and easy to use weapon. It is essentially a simple hand cannon.

Oh, and another thing....shotguns are antique, ...perfect for a time traveler as they have been made since the late 1700's. If you were to go back a couple of hundred years, you can still find ammo.

Cut shells are great. But make sure your barrel is large enough for the shell to pass through without getting stuck. To test size, simply insert the shell into the tip of the barrel.

One thing the video doesn't point out so well is where exactly to cut the shell, as some are manufactured a little differently. There is a gap between the charge and the shot load. Give it a squeeze to find it. That's where to make the cut.

Remember to Check your barrel choke when using slugs and sabots fellas. Slugs need modified chokes as turkey chokes taper down and will cause your barrel to explode during a ballistic lodge.
