@Kairos - I think that Cirrus is trying to say is that NASA is a government institution, and anyway, the federal government is riddled with socialists.

But I don't think NASA should take all the credit for technological advances, even the secret ones. I believe that technologically advanced aliens are helping them. Not that the aliens agree with socialism necessarily, but that they are helping the world's mainstream technology to slowly advance. And when I say "mainstream" technology, I mean technology that isn't kept secret by national governments.

It's not a socialist institution at all. The private sector builds most of those things. NASA subcontracts it out. The Space Shuttles, for instance, were maintained by United Space Alliance. The Orion system is being developed by Alliant Techsystems.

He doesn't have any idea what he is talking about.

NASA is funded by the people. Even if they subcontract, they still own the product at the end of the day. The US government is riddled with socialist institutions... the worst being the IRS.

You don't know what the fuck you are talking about. Socialism is state control of the means of production. Last I checked, the government does not control the space industry. LOL

Thanks for the insight, Karl.

Socialism is a lot broader than you think. Some of it is bad (anarchism) while other forms can be good (universal healthcare, the New Deal). NASA is a state-created entity that owns all products produced for it. In a sense, NASA also controls the means of production (through, in part, the FAA) to make sure that everybody doesn't have access to the materials necessary to rocket off into space without prior approval from the government.

So, yes, maybe I'm partially wrong in a traditional sense of the term, but there is more to it than just the scary versions of socialism.

Information becomes declassified after so many years and all of these revelations about Roswell coming forward are just nails in the coffin that our technological advancements are simply from observing other species. Think about something new...go on. Think of a NEW technology that doesn't exist, physically or in imagination. You can't because you are a product of your environment and you can only repeat and rearrange words you've heard and things you've seen. Inventions today are just mashups of other inventions. Therefore, how do humans get these radical ideas for stories and movies? We've been contacted. Remember: Star Wars is a history film.
