A Reddit user has caused quite a stir on the Internet about retailer Wayfair and some seemingly extremely overpriced cabinets for sale to anyone that looks for them. The cabinets, according to the user, are referred to by product names that echo missing children that are presumed to be the result of child trafficking. This is disturbing to say the least, so Common Sense Conspiracy is taking a deep dive into what is going on here.

These images are creating quite a stir on the Internet today.

First of all, it is very difficult to believe that someone really involved in child trafficking would do anything this bold. So there’s the first red flag. However, these entries in the screenshot are no longer available on the Wayfair website, and many people are corroborating the story saying that these were there until this was brought to light. Now, Wayfair has yet to make a public statement about this, although the story developed rapidly, and they may very well make a statement later on today as more information becomes available.

It is much more likely that either hackers or a disgruntled employee from Wayfair put these entries on their website to bring bad publicity to the retailer, as well as cause a viral moment all over the Internet. Once again, there is just no reason to believe that Wayfair would put that up if there were actual truth to it. The hack job was very well done. The order numbers on the entries can actually point to disturbing Russian sites with very illegal pornography, as some investigating have pointed out.

It looks like an elaborate scheme, and it was well-executed, but this is the kind of viral story that makes you wonder what might be going on under your nose while everyone is outraged about the thought that Wayfair is selling $9000 cabinets on the Internet publicly to store children in. This is most likely a distraction, if not the work of a rogue entity completely unrelated to anything else.

One thing is for sure though. Wayfair needs to find out what happened on their website and come clean about it fast because the damage to their reputation will not be undone by simply finding the viral story to be fake.

We will continue to monitor this story and we will update this article if more information becomes available. Also, if you have any information to share, please post in the comments below.
