It is all over the news. NASA scientist finds evidence of alien germs. Yeah, in a meteorite even. I am glad this is coming out now. Hope that we find out more soon.

I wonder if they have any way to know if those germs are similar or not to germs we encounter on Earth.

Possibly. If they're able to make these bacterias grow in a specific environment, there's a bunch of tests they can make to see how it reacts and to which category of bacterias it mostly looks like. Apparently, they say it's looking like a fossilized cyanobacteria, but I wonder if we'll have more informations about the tests they did.
