New Theories Suggest That Chris Cornell and Chester Bennington Were Murdered

Both Chris Cornell and Chester Bennington were already the target of massive speculation. Many in conspiracy circles believed that these deaths had to be related, and may very well have been murders at the hands of the Illuminati. That’s a pretty standard theory anytime anyone of cultural significance passes away in a manner that is the least bit suspicious. We at Common Sense Conspiracy know that all too well. However, the theories circulating now are going in a different direction.

Yes, it’s still speculation that both rock stars were murdered and did not take their own lives. The reason is quite different, though. The current story is that Chester and Chris were about to reveal details including specific names about a major child pedophilia ring. The word on the street is that before they could make this revelation to the public and the authorities, the ring went out of their way to silence them. The theory is really gaining steam on social media, with many people that wouldn’t normally subscribe to Illuminati-esque conspiracy theories really giving it a second look. Let’s look at it in our trademark unbiased, common sense manner.

The story arises from some of these guys’ good works in their life. Chris Cornell founded a foundation that is all about working against sexual exploitation of children. He didn’t try to take a lot of credit for it, but breathed plenty of his money into it. Chester Bennington, who was really close friends with Cornell for years, also got behind the cause and was a major player in the organization as well. So, when both of them turn up dead in a very short period of time and both are supposed suicides by hanging, it was only a matter of time before someone started putting all this together. Is it conceivable that Bennington and Cornell’s organization was doing some legwork to uncover something big? Sure. Absolutely. But does that mean this is a murder to silence them? Well, there are a few problems with the theory.

First of all, while Chris Cornell may have founded the organization and invested a lot of cash in it, it’s unlikely that he was that involved in the day-to-day operation of it, and it’s even more unlikely that he and Chester would be the only ones that knew the information allegedly uncovered. So, even if it was arranged to silence these two, there would have to be several other people still alive that have this information. Now, you might suggest that it’s a scare tactic to all those other folks, but really, it wouldn’t be that hard to blow the whistle at this point. Someone out there would have to know the truth, and with these two very high-profile deaths, it’s hard to believe they wouldn’t be able to get someone’s attention. So, that alone makes it unlikely.

It’s infinitely more likely that someone knew about Cornell’s good works, and crafted a semi-believable story that many out there kind of want to believe because it makes Cornell and Bennington real heroes instead of two men that took their own lives, leaving their children fatherless. If you got to lose these talents, it feels better to lose them like that than the alternative. However, that doesn’t make it any more likely that this is what happened. It’s gaining steam because people want to believe it, and are eager to share it with their friends and loved ones, especially if they are fans. There’s nothing wrong with it really, but we are just offering our interpretation of the matter.

The bottom line is there is no evidence that this is true at this time. Reports that authorities have launched a full murder investigation are simply not true, at least not now. It hasn’t happened. So, it’s all speculation, and maybe it’s good speculation, but at the end of the day, that’s all we can call it based on the information that we have available. Hopefully if this is true, eventually more stuff will come to light that can allow us to make a real proclamation based on facts. Until then, speculate on if it makes you feel better.
