A member of the Oklahoma House of Representatives has filed a bill that calls for the establishment of a Bigfoot hunting season in the state. The audacious idea is reportedly the brainchild of Rep. Justin Humphrey, who reportedly put forward the proposal on Wednesday. The fairly succinct resolution, which can be read here, states that "The Oklahoma Wildlife Conservation Commission shall promulgate rules establishing a big foot [sic] hunting season. The Commission shall set annual season dates and create any necessary specific hunting licenses and fees."

It remains to be seen whether or not the bill will wind up receiving a vote when the Oklahoma legislature meets on February 1st as, similar to what happened with a Washington state bill aimed at putting Sasquatch on license plates, it could get stuck in the bureaucratic process. Be that as it may, should be resolution pass, it would go into effect on November 1st, 2021. As one might imagine, response to the bill has been mixed with some residents considering it an embarrassing waste of time and others recognizing it as a clever joke which could generate some tax dollars by way of people buying the novelty Bigfoot hunting licenses.

For their part, a representative of the state's Wildlife Conservation Commission acknowledged the bill and said that "we use science to make management decisions, and we do not recognize Bigfoot as a wildlife species in Oklahoma." To that end, one wonders if the passage of the resolution would open up a proverbial can of worms with regards to whether or not it establishes Sasquatch as a genuine creature living in the state and, in turn, its presumed scarcity would necessitate some kind of endangered species protection.

The Oklahoma bill is a decidedly different type of Sasquatch-related legislation compared to resolutions passed in other states and local communities. In some instances, Bigfoot has been 'honored' by way of some kind of formal recognition naming it the official cryptid of a particular locality. And, in one county in Oregon, purposely killing a Sasquatch is actually illegal and punishable by up to one year in prison. As of yet, of course, no one has been busted breaking the Bigfoot law, although encouraging people to go out and try to hunt a Sasquatch, as is proposed in Oklahoma, may not be the best idea considering the creatures bipedal nature might lead to a tragic case of misidentification.

I agree with the residents who believe its an embarrassing waste of time on the part of Republican Justin Humphrey to even think up such an idea for a Big Foots hunting season...Perhaps the Covid situation has affected his sanity, just the same as its affected millions of other peoples sanity around the World who are struggling with psychological problems that relates solely to the Covid outbreak...Be it a real or a faked virus..

This is the worst idea I have heard in a long time. Sasquatch are very closely related to humans. Hunting and killing them would be like murdering a person. There are ordinances in White Hall, New York and Skamania County, Washington that prohibit the harming of a Bigfoot creature.

One would hope that they were smart enough to know that it was a put-on.

I have no guns myself anymore as I collected antique pistols but sold them all off
during the 2008-09 recession to buy food.
They were NOT for shooting, mind ya.

I now only own 1 for sentimental reason and it's a very old .22 caliber rifle that belonged to my Father
which has never left it's case since his passing back in 1984.

Sasquatch, bigfoot are a world wide population of other species similar to man-humans but on a larger scale. There's like thousands of them all over the world. Most often they will not bother a person, unless they're either a creature that enjoys eating humans, or is some forms of abominable snowman, or an Genoshkwa, which are dedicated ambush meat eaters.

They have dedicated military hit squads to control problem, man killing Sasquatches, but these are far and few between.

Bigfoot have a possible interphase organ in their makeup, like the modern large flying dragon does. So has the ability to interphase, making itself invisible.

In this context, it's really not a smart idea to go hunting them, as the can outrun man. Have immense physical strength. And can usually kill a human with one swat. This is why, if at all possible have the state's departments of fish and game promote an understanding program between man and sasquatch, or large cryptid humanoids, so these in environment disagreements occur much less often.*This is the way to go, the ticket that most and common sense are looking for.

The sicked a squad of military hitmen on a group of sasquatches on a bad family a bigfoot they had to take out in the south and it cost the life of one of the soldiers involved. There's also a telling that some sasquatch are either ET affiliated, or possibly aliens from flying saucers themselves. This has been seen by witnesses.

I think if the open up a hunting season on bigfoot, is when you will start having the hunters disappear.*Just hold your shot, unless you're directly being threatened by a bigfoot. There's not reason to shoot at it, if it's in the act of hunting, or just making its way through nature...You as a hunter must figure, how would you like it, if someone just started to hunt you, if there was no good reason to it?

*On the exception rule, the { Genoshkwa } which is white and a known people and meat eater, that only looks somewhat like a bigfoot, can't probably be dealt with peacefully. It's a known, but sticks like rotten meat beside the trail bushwhacker. Twist off a person's head. And there's also bad sorts of bigfoot and sasquatch, that nobody can seem to reach a detent with. This is near a special lake near Mount Saint Helens, but it's thought that lake for some reason is sacred to them.

There's also places in British Columbia, to where the sasquatch tear trees out of the ground, putting them back upside-down, which is a warning to stay out of their territory, that you must honor their request.*A war with these cryptids would be a nightmare, as they move through the forest and woods, so much better than a human can..."Please think twice about ever pulling the trigger on one, just because you have the optimal shot"?

Note, in Ohio, there's been problems with both bigfoot and another cryptid know as the dogman, which is a fixed non-changeable werewolf like creature. Thank you.

I always thought Bigfoot was descended from Neanderthals. Most likely the dominant species on the planet. Apparently they have cloaking technology. That's why we can never find them.
