If I tell you that aliens are real and you say prove it, and then you call me a liar? The same kind of logic holds true for claims that time travel has not yet been achieved.

Neither of which have been sufficiently proven yet. So yeah, I guess I can see where you are coming from. Sure.

I was a person that believed the Lock Ness Monster story was a hoax to promote tourism and that the reports of Big Foot were done for the same reason, so I know where skepticism is coming from.
Hmmmm. The Lock Ness monster I can totally understand. He's cute and doesn't look all that dumb swimming around. But ...Bigfoot? Hmmmm... naahhh, doesn't hold much intrinsic value to sustain a complete tourism industry. They would need to pin him down to a specific region of the globe to lock in cooperation with all the Bed and Breakfasts.

Please give it a rest all of you shrill government trolls. Grow-Up and get a life of your own!
Yeahhh! All you baddies out there who demand actual things such as proof and validation of any claims! Leave us be!

And now, back to the regularly scheduled fun. :)

I think he brought the sticker from the IBM 5110 to show his grandfather, to help convince him that he was from the future. That would have been some good evidence, especially, because the IBM5100 was already built in 1975, but the newer IBM5110 wasn't available until 1978.

Alright I will keep this question simple, because of the 'setting' the response is being asked here on the question of John's motives. Let's assume he really did as is suggested above. He went back in time from 2036 down to the year 1975, to walk in on his grandfather's workplace and shook his hand and said, "Hi. I am your grandson from year 2036.. on and on.. and oh, by the way, here is a simple yellow sticker with some printed numbering on it to prove everything I am telling you." Put yourself in his grandfather's shoes now for a moment, and ask yourself, would *you* accept it as undeniable proof? A peeled-off label?

Now, in all honestly, I can picture in my mind, the grandfather now standing there, having been told this totally incredulous tale by his supposed grandson standing before him. And as a bonus question: Where... did John get that actual sticker brought back from year 2036, for a computer machine he said was totally foreign to his 2036 time-line sixty-years later? None existed in his day, right? All the machines which were wiped out over the decades. None survived the 'war' apparently. Could he or his superiors have simply printed one on the spot? No one has yet designed it back in 1975, so it wouldn't even be recognized, beyond maybe using the same font from an earlier design. Okay, that's all.

OK Your numbness,
(Sufficiently to you maybe, but NOT to the folks that have seen aliens!)

(Like I said, you just don’t know what you don’t know and may never know if you keep your mouth open and your ears and eyes closed)

(All I ask is that show some respect to the folks that have come forward with information)
(You are not perceived as a “baddie”, but you are more of a blockhead as well as a deterrent for others to come forward on this web site to share what they have seen.)

And now, back to the regularly scheduled fun. (At the asylum where they have the best meds?)

Where... did John get that actual sticker brought back from year 2036, for a computer machine he said was totally foreign to his 2036 time-line sixty-years later? None existed in his day, right?

What we do know is what John told us.

1) In 2036 on John's Wordline, the military didn't have a working IBM5100 that had the special capabilities, which were only known to the original IBM Engineers who created it (and evidently the military in 2036)...one of whom was John's grandfather. John's mission was to retrieve an IBM5100 and take it back with him to 2036.
2) John brought an IBM5110 label with him when he Time Traveled to our Worldline, which he gave to Pamela when she asked for an item that had traveled through time. Which means someone associated with John in the year 2036 must have had an IBM5110 and that is where John got the sticker from.

Why would John bring a 5110 label with him to our Worldline? My deduction is that he brought it deliberately for a purpose. The only purpose I can think of is, in the telling of his story to his grandfather, he might have shown him the label to help him believe his story. Not as a sole-convincing piece of evidence, but evidence none the less that would help his grandfather believe his story.

You do not believe John's claims, and I don't think anything we say here will convince you that he was a real Time Traveler. Many years ago, after very intense research, I came to believe his story. So we must agree to disagree on the matter.

Please tell me Walt Willis and SJ...How is it that SJ posted a reply (#61) to Walt's comment #63, BEFORE it was posted here on this thread? Did someone travel through time? ;) I'm serious though. How is it that SJ's reply was posted before Walt's comment? That's kind of freaky! (Did I miss something, or was there a technical glitch?)

It would be nice to find a forum that had no smart-ass folks in it so the people that have had alien contact or wanted to learn about the experiences of others that had contact would have a safe place to share what they know.

I have a secret for the people that are here to have fun at the expense of others. I’ll be leaving soon and you’ll also be leaving but not exactly the same way. This is my gift to the good people here and to let them know that there is a force of good to balance the force of evil.

As we begin to enter into the next age of man there will be times when good people will suffer great anxieties about the future. The baddies will once again crawl out from under their rocks to re-establish themselves. If they’re faults to be had it is with the nature of the good-hearted folks that allow evil to regain a new foothold on earth.

The witty humor folks without good reason, judgment or logic that will nitpick points out of context such as mistakes in spelling, grammar, or dates and time will miss the point to the subject matter every time.

There is strong evidence to indicate many of the forums are or have been infiltrated by “Contelpro” paid people or volunteers working for the government to undermine the effective exchange of information between members. The government for the same reason starts some forums.
You may wonder how I can make such a statement? I am a retired supervisor from DHS and we used disinformation as a routine tool just as every other government in the world has done throughout history.

Please forgive my departure Sam. You are the best weapon the world has to stand up to the baddies of the world.
PS. We prefer the term human and not Hybrid.

Agreed! This, I know to be true. I call them Disinformation Specialists, aka Piranhas!. They are generally easy to recognize if one is aware.

Please stay Walt! Why are you leaving? :(

Just a little thought on the precise computer specifications..... Although I have not played with a 5100, I just wonder how many of you remember the XT and AT systems?

When the XT came out, we had one when I was in the Navy <mumble> years ago. We all preferred the XT to the AT because the XT had a very useful little feature, pressing CTRL and H at the same time opened up a direct Hex editor!!! this was not the case with the AT.... Most of the systems we used in RADAR was Hex based programming, and so even after the AT set the ongoing standards, we always had an XT to hand as it made life easier. This is one example of differing features on IBM systems at the time.....

And to be honest, I am on the hunt for one of two computers myself either an original XT or an Apple 2e... I find that older systems do allow me to do more than the newer ones (in certain circumstances). Obviously, I have newer systems primarily because my DP and CAD packages are severely memory hungry and also need some reasonable processing power (Win 7, Win 8 running on Core I7 and core I5 respectively)

However, for manipulation of peripherals (home made) then I like the older systems. Just one other thought..... with the older systems, there was a lot of direct addressing used. I was working at one company when a control system went down, and in order to get it back up and running, we HAD to acquire a 386 DX33 with AMD bios. Nothing else would work due to the direct addressing used in the interface programme. I ended up paying twice as much for a second hand 386 motherboard than I would have done buying a Pentium 100 system....... So it is possible that someone really really did need a very specific model of computer to perform a specific task!

Obviously not proof in any form, but a possibly interesting fact. (certainly to a complete nerd like myself...... :D )
