Last officially seen 1936 (Benjamin at Hobart Zoo), now the president of the Thylacine Awareness Group of Australia claims to have found one (Actually three) on trail cam in North-East Tasmania.
Expect him to post the photographs by early next week.
I won't be making further comment on it until i have seen the photos.

The pictures have now been uploaded to the web and there is this dailymail article with them in ;

Seems to me like one of the photos is a domestic cat and another is a pademelon wallaby.

FWIW these photos were taken in north-east Tasmania.Much of it has been cleared for farming.The western half of Tasmania by comparison is mostly untouched and a large portion is national parks.The best evidence of this beast still existing is IMO the Adamsfield photos from 1990.

For more information be sure to check out this study on 20th century tiger populations, the best data out there including bounty receipts, sightings and predicted habitat ranges by decade.
