41 is an independent time travel movie. Here is a synopsis without giving too much away:

A college student is in a car accident and in the hospital, a man tells him to go to a hotel and find a hole in the bathroom of room 41. Many, many events happen after this.

Here is a link to the movie:

I am going to make a separate post. It will be a spoiler. I found a huge mistake in the movie.

** SPOILER ALERT!!!!! ** Do not read this post if you haven't seen the movie!!!!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mistake: Aiden makes many trips to the past and finally reaches a point when his grandparents were young, alive, and married. The problem here is that they made no mention of whether or not the hotel existed back then. If it did not exist, he would have no way of returning to his normal time. After this scene, he was suddenly back to his normal time. Further more, he was under the assumption the whole time that he could only travel to the past, so how did he suddenly leap forward? It wasn't explained at all.

I agree with you that the question of whether or not the hotel is there is important. It looks way too modern to be there two generations ago. However, he does not return to his normal time. He returns to room 41 when dropped off by his grandfather and there is the flash forward to him talking to his teacher and saying he can only go backwards. He then ages until he is seen to actually be the old man running the hotel. It is that old man who goes and tells his younger self that he needs to go to the hotel. Not a paradox . . . but in retrospect, it would have been better if the hotel had been a very old hotel at the beginning.

I just recently watched this on YouTube. Aiden never leaped forward. All the changes that he did make were created by his younger self. So from the first time we see Aiden time travel, there is always a younger duplicate of him at the same time. I would suggest watching the movie again with this in mind.

An excellent movie to get the grey matter working is Deja Vu..there is the usual great acting from Denzel Washington and some clever "tips" given in the movie as to how time-travel could work...but will you catch these tips first time around? I think not  ;) :D
