You pay some shady offshore shell company who needs fast cash as a one time lump sum, and then they have to pay you back until you die for any mysterious reason. Most of our private pension fund investors just take the money and run, so what is stopping them from poisoning the retirement home's water supply, aiming a microwave canon at you, or lobbying for bad health policies once the amount is fixed? How can we prove that this is not happening to everyone?

Unfortunately you can't prove it to people, there is too much cognitive dissonance, especially for those nearing that pension worry stage, they have been alive so long that their belief system are so deeply entangled into every aspect of their lives it becomes unshakable. A deep and tangled web.

All you can do is show them a better way, and this isn't an area I follow, never really have and never will but I don't think most places have better ways yet, they can't even figure out how to get better on a daily basis never mind a supply of food until they're dead.

The system is set up to keep any better ways hidden and out of sight so finding new ways around that is going to be a challenge but it can be done.
