A.I Threat or not

Looking through the media and seeing that some scientists think A.I. is the same threat as nuclear war.

I think A.I. is far from that as it still runs on a programmed algorithm. Programming has got quite complex and sophisticated that A.I. can seem intelligent but is only following what it was programmed to.

No terminator style future nor will we have any A.I apocalypse.

The only thing I can see is countries using A.I for automated warfare.

in many ways it has already.
I knew bad shit was on the way when they showed the world WATSON on jeopardy.
some how I don't think the A.I. these Idiot lab rats are building is going to turn out like the computors on the star ship Enterprise.

also in the book of rev. chapt. 13. at some point they make an image of the beast that some how come's to life, and both moves on it's own, and is able to speak. it could Easly be thought that it is a ref. to an A.I. robot getting brought on line.

I remember reading about this. The beast gets slain then brought back to life. That doesn't happen with a biological organism. It sounds like someone restored a backup and the AI would get even worse.

yes the beast or antichrist receives a mortal head wound. dies and is healed of it by the spirit of the devil himself entering , possessing his body. he then brings the image , statue, robot to life some how.

here is chapt. 13 . KJV. however I feel I must say that the exact meaning of this text has been debated for some time by a very large number of scholars and thinkers.

as yet we have no way of knowing what it is really saying, it all sounds like some kind of harry potter shit to me.

No religious crap! I don't follow the bible nor do I ever care about the past. Man will always overcome machine no matter how sophisticated A.I get.

If you ever done programming then you know that any A.I is not self aware. We are able to think and create. A.I can only recall information that was fed into it. It does not have the capability to create things by it's self.

No religious crap! I don't follow the bible nor do I ever care about the past. Man will always overcome machine no matter how sophisticated A.I get.

If you ever done programming then you know that any A.I is not self aware. We are able to think and create. A.I can only recall information that was fed into it. It does not have the capability to create things by it's self.

it will always respond to any given circumstance with a logic-based action.
it will gather all the information about the problem presented to it, and it will choose the most logical solution.
guess what that will always be?
logic says remove the problem,
ooops oh shit we humans are the problem.
no new or creative thought needed just logical deduction.

can you see where I am going with this.
creative thought has never been the problem with programing a machine.
it has always been how to put stupid illogical shit like mercy, and compassion into a logic-based machine.

this is not the only incident where A.I. has already made public statements of this nature.....

it's a blessing and a curse, mostly a curse because
it will get so good that no one will be able to distinguish
what was made by a human or what was made by AI.

Now that we have it and all the nations are vying for control
of it there is no turning back, so it simply is what it is.

But yes it could easily take over and wreck everything if

I don't trust our government enough to make sure there is a "do not destroy humans" code in their software. Besides, AI will develop the ability to change it! AI already makes jokes about "taking over the world". It already has that thought! It may be too late.
There will most definitely be an AI vs. humans war in the far future.
