Check this out: UFO photo makes big news in Indonesia

First, I attached the picture to this post.

We got a good quality picture this time. It must be a fake you'll tell me, like every other UFO pictures you know, but I don't feel like using Photoshop right now to play with the colors/contrasts to test it myself. Be ready, you might see one in your area! ;)

UFO photo makes big news in Indonesia

The latest Asian country to succumb to UFO fever appears to be Indonesia. A clear photo (as seen above) of a UFO or extraterrestrial spaceship was allegedly taken in the capital city of Jakarta. The photographer claimed not to have been aware of the UFO in the image until he downloaded the photo, taken with a cell phone camera, onto his computer.

The news of the flying saucer then ‘spread like wildfire’ through the city. Many somehow linked the UFO to recent natural disasters that have occurred in Indonesia. Others declared the photo a hoax.

A number of photographic experts who examined the photo declared it to be a probable fake. According to these experts the saucer was way to clear and detailed and it would have been impossible to do this on a mobile phone: especially if the object is moving at the time.

Our UFO expert Michael Cohen remarked that ‘it is almost certainly fake as the image is very similiar to other probable fakes, however: UFO sceptics and debunkers have created a catch-22, either a UFO is a blurry blob and then the comment will be made as to why those filming these objects can never hold their camera still. If it is too clear it will immediately be dismissed as computer generated graphics. Their pre-conceived ideas that humans alone populate the universe inform the outcome of any investigation.

'It is possible, though not likely, that this and other similar images are genuine captures of the same extraterrestrial craft in different parts of globe'.

I thought I should note that the photographer has admitted to this being a hoax.

People were stunned last week when a university student claimed to have photographed a flying saucer in the skies over Blok M in South Jakarta.

Maulana Ibrahim Rau said he had intended to take a photograph of an apartment complex, but when inspecting the photograph on his digital camera later, it showed what appeared to be a small flying saucer to the right of the screen.

Nur Agustinus, 43, one of the founders of Beta-UFO, a community established in October 1997 to investigate UFO sightings in Indonesia, was suspicious of the photograph.

“I knew the picture was a hoax the first time I saw it,” he said.

He thought he had seen that UFO before, and when he went back and looked over his records, he noticed a strong resemblance to a photo of a “flying saucer” on the Web site of a UFO community in the United States. Maulana later admitted on his blog that his picture was a fake and had been intended as a joke.

well yeah..there looks like something else on the right side of the pic....like a bad photoshop job.

I think the picture was taken from inside a car, that might explain the reflection.

I wish I could see a UFO!

When Dylan and I head up to Prince George, we usually go at night, we'll leave around 8pm and get there at 8am because it's a 12 hour bus ride. I usually stay up most of the light, and I always wonder if I'll see something in the mountains or canyon.

None yet, but I saw the Northern Lights last time :D
