I can directly relate to going to the video shop when i was younger, some sort of excitement. It was that the movies were great it was just being in there.

Later in life a friend ran his own shop had everything wall to ceiling movies, tv series, docos, all types of games consoles for hire but sadly demand dropped off pretty quickly and like most or if not all video shops had to close up.
That'd be a dream... It's a shame those kinds of shops are extinct. I'd be more than happy to visit one.

I'm very nostalgic as well, I have a lot of fond memories I like to revisit again with movies, games, music.

I remember renting movies back in the day too. And NES and SNES games. Remember that feeling when you rented a shitty movie or a shitty game? LOL Can't forget that! You'd be stuck the whole weekend with a bad game.

I have a lot of pleasant memories back from when I was six. For example, flying a kite with my grandfather.

Back in the day, I had rented one of the latest 'Puppet Master' movies on VHS and Loved It!
(B-Movies....ROCK!)

My thing was the Big Record Stores such as The Electric Fetus or Media Play for both Vinyl records and CD.
Both stores had a very wide and Deep Import Selection. It was like "Pack a lunch, man. I'm going to waste some $$."

Sadly...Gone now to the annuls of time.

Then it struck me. Why am I no longer amazed by new stuff like they are? It feels like I'm no longer the optimist I was as a kid and a lot of things seem somewhat futile and boring. What about the cool new stuff people show me? New video games, new movies? New cars? New whatever... I've become harder and harder to impress, to amaze, it's like I've become numb to that. Why? Have I become a boring old person? ...I'm 33 BTW.

I feel we lose creativity, too. Kids get lost in play and imagination. They can live in a different world for hours. When I played with my kids as an adult, I was bored in 5 minutes and wished I could step away. Their imagination and creativity are amazing. Why does it leave?

And the days felt super long! That time between lunch and dinner felt like forever! Summer felt like forever. Now, we blink and it's over.
Same here. In highschool, lunchtime felt like a whole day. It was barely and hour and a half... Not enough time to do anything nowadays! lol
