The future often feels cold and sterile to me. Yeah, people in the past were nicer. Like there was a lot less crime. When my grandfather was a teenager, he would keep the key in the ignition of his car. Also, he would not lock the front door of the house as it was not necessary. People often claim they want to know what the future will give us. I am not so sure.
