POTTAWATTAMIE COUNTY, Iowa — A family of three Iowans last week claimed to have seen a human-like creature with animal face in a forest next to the city of Council Bluffs.
Matthew say he and his parents were hiking near the Missouri River in the afternoon when they spotted the being peeking through the tall grass.
“We were walking along a trail in the forest when I heard movement,” Matthew told Thomas Marcum, founder of The Crypto Crew, about the 2012 encounter. “It was a dry summer, so the grass was very yellowish brown and probably dead.”
According to Matthew, the encounter didn’t last longer than five seconds, but that was enough time for him to gather physical details of the creature.
“It was all black with what looked like a man with a face like a ant eater,” he said, adding that its face was thick and lacked a visible “mouth or nose”.
The eyewitness also claimed that when he returned to the same spot later that summer, he found what looked like “hoof tracks about 4 inches thick” forming a pattern that suggested they had been printed by “something that walked on two legs”.
Marcum, who claims over 20 years of experience researching the paranormal, said he is trying to obtain further information from the sighting but that, so far, Matthew hasn’t answered to his questions. He also said that he doesn’t believe the being was Bigfoot related.
Last year, a Virginia girl told Cryptozoology News he had seen a similarly hoofed bipedal creature exhibiting an “bony looking face” with a head that reminded her of “the mix of a horse and a Komodo dragon” while camping in a state park in Page County.
