NEENAH, Wis.– A child in Winnebago County says he spotted a horned rabbit-like creature.

Clark, whose last name was omitted due to the journalistic ethics code relating the age of a witness, told Cryptozoology News that he was in his house looking through the window when he noticed the unidentified creature.

“I was watching the birds in my backyard,” said the 8-year-old. “I saw something strange on the hill hopping across, as looking out, it quickly escaped into the grass,” he added about last year’s alleged summer encounter.

The child described it as a gray rabbit-like creature with shorter ears and “stubby horns”.

“It also had tusks,” he said, adding that the animal had bright yellow eyes. “I saw it for about a minute. I went to check and there were chewed leaves and an odd smell.”

He did not specify the size of the claimed being.

Arizona author and Bigfoot researcher Mitchell Waite in 2014 said he and his team had seen a “giant rabbit” but were not able to capture it on video due to an “unexpected camera malfunction” they believe could be linked to the additional “strange activity” linked to the area.

In late 2015, a biological scientist said he and his wife were in the wilderness of the region between the United States and Canada when they spotted a “giant beaver” in 2007.

In 1983, a man allegedly encountered a similar creature in an undisclosed location in the state of Maine. He said the animal was about 14 feet long and believes it weighed over 300 pounds.

Primary habitat of this elusive creature being the American West and Southwest in particular, I had no idea that the Jackalope had spread as far as Wisconsin.

If it was chewing on leaves it was a real animal. They should lay traps around and a video camera. Be a nice project for the local college kids.
