The way I figure it, is we have immortal souls. The only way the devil could get you to give possession of your soul to him is through some type of belief. Choose not to believe, and the devils possession over your soul becomes null and void. Of course you don't want the devil to suspect you are going to cheat him. Or he wouldn't do business with you.

An example would be if you believe the devil can cause you unbearable pain and suffering. But having an immortal soul kind of makes it obvious that any pain or suffering would be created by your belief in that. Remember, your soul is immortal. That means no harm can come to your soul.

Yes, most people prefer to be sheople. Totally blind to the fact that they even have false beliefs.

Yep. Its easier to believe everything is correct. And everything is wrong. And go with what proves itself over time. And if someday that too fails? It doesn't discount the successes. It means adapt and overcome ;-).
